On SEPT 5, 2024 @ 6:33 PM PDT @ Baseline Street & Alpine Street, Highland, California [34.121119,-117.154705] a wildfire was birthed via arson & named the "Line Fire." It all began like this Initial Situation Summary states: Forest Service Firefighters, along with firefighters from other agencies, including the City of Highland & San Bernardino County, responded to a reported wildland fire on Baseline Road @ about 6:00 PM on SEPT 5, 2024. Arriving engines reported several acres on fire & immediately requested more resources, including multiple additional fixed wing & helicopters. That was the 5th of SEPT 2024. Today is October 3, 2024 & it's still alive & has torched over 44,000 acres of the San Bernardino National Forest & threatened almost every single mountain community within this mountainous terrain. Evacuation Orders were issues for the Big Bear Lake Valley region twice now as the first time was extremely intense with the front line blazing fire reaching to top of the western most ridges in the Bluff Lake area, just east southeast of the Big Bear Lake Dam area & Boulder Bay. The air quality index numbers wee astronomically high, @ one time reaching 1,500 & was steady for a couple weeks above 400. The sky was orangish & the air was thick with the smell of a campfire. You had to wear masks to keep from getting an intense migraine like headache. Eyes burned, throat became very sore from breathing in through the nose. Your house needed to be closed & @ any time, the evacuation order could have gone to Stage/Level 3 (GO) status. The first evacuation order Stage/Level is 1 (READY) - the second evacuation order Stage/Level is (SET) & the third evacuation order Stage/Level (GO) or Ready, Set & GO! Ready & Set will hopefully give people within the given zones enough time to quickly get your precious, irreplaceable, documents, photos et cetera together & have them already in your vehicle, this way when the third stage/level should be called, you have no more time except to GO get in your vehicle & immediately evacuate the area NOW! One must take this as serious as serious can be! Either that or you could gamble I guess, but if you loose, you might just burn up to a crispy ash & then blow away as dust debris blowing within the breeze. No way, not a desirable thought to even ponder. I would take a hurricane, earthquake, electrical storm with tornadic activity any time over a wildfire within a mountainous region. Doesn't take a very long time for me to determine that one. Just the thought of being incinerated within a matter of seconds & then your dusty ash cremains get blown upwards most likely in the intense, rising thermals being produced within the blazing tinderbox of large, sappy trees which are very old, very tall & full of petroleum-like sap. There were reports of flames as high as 300+ feet tall. One might self combust well before the actual flame even touched your body. Anyway, almost one month later, it's still ravaging the terrain here. Evacuation orders were lifted & then a week & a half later (approx) they were issued once again. Stress, stress, stress. What I have done here is taken video screen captures of one of the Forestry's numerous wireless live cameras & after recording approximately 30 continuous hours of the latest front line of blazing fire headed towards the Big Bear Valley area (early morning of SEPT 29th through late evening of SEPT 30th 2024) I sped-up the video by 10 times to reduce the time of the video & also drastically reducing the file size from 583GB's to a little of 70GB's in size. There is no audio with it, I couldn't figure out what type of music and/or audio ambiance would be appropriate. It took a modern processor over 3 continuous days to encode this file & I hope you enjoy, or become a bit more knowledgeable with what you see here. The last 40% of the video get very intense with flames, but also is quickly becoming closer & closer to home. It's insane, but educational. ENJOY the day's of your life. There will be a day for each one of us & we never quite know when that will be. Be kind to your friends & family, don't take things for grant-it. Friends are like family & sometimes preferred to family because one can pick them out. Family you inherit. Love them both, we all make errors, but friends & family should be endearing forevermore. Love each other, instead of hate, take & abuse one another. That's all so animalistic & petty-stupid. Smile, hug & care about yourself & others. We could change this world quickly, but it takes us all. Screw the vulturistic politicians & other control freaks. Until one can control 99.999% of themselves, they are unqualified to tell others what they must do. REMEMBER & be wise, educated with what you do & live life peacefully & enjoy one another.
