During the Spring 2004 symposium segment "Watergate in Retrospective", Assistant Managing Editor from the Washington Post and Co-Author of All the President's Men, Bob Woodward spoke about the Watergate scandal he covered as a newspaper reporter. As a young reporter in 1972, Woodward parterned up with fellow reporter Carl Bernstein and the two further investigated a story of a burglary that took place at the headquarters of a Democratic Convention Comittee. The headquarters were at a Washington D.C. office building known as Watergate. When no other media covered the story as extensively as the Washington Post, these two made headlines when they uncovered an illegal plot mastermind by the Republican party and President Richard Nixon to win reelection at the time. the duo won numerious awards for their investigative journalism.
