Speakers: Annie Killoran, MD, MSc, Clinical Associate Professor Neurology University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence Lance M. Wilson, MSS, LSW, C-SWHC, ASW-G, Social Worker & Education and Outreach Coordinator Jefferson Health Comprehensive Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center, Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence Bios: Dr. Annie Killoran completed her Fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of Rochester. She took a faculty position at the University of West Virginia before joining the team at the University of Iowa in 2016. She is involved in the multidisciplinary Huntington’s disease clinic and has dedicated clinics for ataxia and Botulinum Toxin. However, the large majority of her patients have Parkinson’s disease and she is currently involved in a clinical trial targeting sleep dysfunction in people with Parkinson’s disease. She is also a Parkinson’s Foundation “Palliative Care Champion” and has recently established a specialty clinic, which provides palliative care for patients with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological conditions. Lance Wilson Lance M. Wilson is a Neuroscience Medical Social Worker who works with patients diagnosed with movement disorders, such as Parkinson's Disease. Lance works with both, patients and care partners providing education, assistance navigating healthcare systems and the continuum of care. Lance has the skill set to assess and facilitate interventions, as well as refer to community/national resources, and conducting brief therapy while offering support and guidance throughout the course of the disease. Lance has professionally worked in the medical, mental health, and public health field for over 5 years and is often asked to speak on a variety of topics in both academia and the community. Lance is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Pennsylvania. Lance holds a C-SWHC (Certified Social Worker in Health Care) and ASW-G (Advanced Social Worker in Gerontology) both are specialty certifications from the National Association of Social Workers. Lance holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (BS) in Human Services from Lincoln University of PA and a Master’s Degree in Social Service (MSS) in Clinical Social Work from Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Currently, Lance is pursuing his PhD in Social Work from Widener University’s College of Health & Human Services as well as working on completing supervision to obtain his clinical social work licensure
