In one era, a girl is condemned as a witch and faces being burned alive—all because of a scar. Centuries later, another girl suffers through illness and is left with the same kind of scar. Now, the judgment comes not only from others but from within herself. This story explores how physical scars carry the weight of fear and shame across time. The girl undergoes a transition ceremony, wearing a blindfold with flowers on one side and thorns on the other, reflecting both beauty and pain. This painful yet transformative ritual leads to the Kintsugi ceremony, where gold fills her scars, reminding us that healing doesn’t mean erasing our imperfections, but embracing them as marks of survival and resilience. The biggest challenge was revisiting a part of life one would rather forget and making sense of it while avoiding harsh self-judgment for the time lost. Inspired by Kintsugi—the Japanese art of repairing with gold—the film is filled with symbolism, showcasing how imperfections can be beautiful and how healing can be meaningful.
