PREMIER INN LONDON GATWICK AIRPORT (NORTH TERMINAL) | Tour & Review | January 2024

I show you the Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport (North Terminal) Hotel, and give you my verdict on whether I'd stay there again. NB This is NOT the Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport (A23 Airport Way) hotel, although I could actually see it from the window of my room. There is no car park at the hotel but it's immediately across the road from the North Terminal itself, and the short stay car park. The entrance to the terminal is also where the shuttle departs for the South Terminal, making the hotel convenient whichever terminal you're flying from. It's also close to the railway station. I flew from the South Terminal, and parked my van there in the long stay car park. It was an easy journey to the hotel, even though I had a heavy suitcase with me. Arriving at the hotel was less easy - the entrance is on the lower ground floor, but reception is on floor 0. Not in itself a problem as there are 3 lifts and a staircase (although note it's actually 3 flights of stairs between the floors), but if it's crowded, there is a big surge towards the lifts and no obvious queuing system. Having been beaten to 3 lifts, I decided to give myself a workout and drag my suitcase up the stairs! Check-in is predominantly by self service kiosk, although there was the option to check in with a person too. I was a bit wary as I've never used a machine to check in (successfully at least!) but this one worked well. Armed with my room number slip and key, I headed to room 505 and calmed down. The room is lovely, modern and fresh, with a comfortable bed and bed-settee. The bathroom is modern and clean - all the mirrors are completely streak free. Apart from the odd door down the corridor, it's quiet, even though the hotel is really busy and it's at an airport. There's a slight whine from what I think is the bathroom ventilation, but closing the bathroom door fully seems to shut this out (and so would the aircon, but I didn't use it on the night I stayed). Breakfast was a calm affair, a decent choice and self service buffet. Communal areas included a bar and Costa Coffee, as well as a nice outside space. There was also a departures board - handy as I couldn't find one landside in the airport! The communal areas got busy in the evening but the noise didn't travel upwards and it was a quiet night. Overall, I'd definitely stay again. It was very clean, comfortable and extremely convenient. It also didn't cost the earth - £60.50 for the room and I paid an extra £11.99 for the full breakfast offer. Not bad for such a convenient hotel next to a busy airport near London.
