Even the low-end Scout sets had it. ** (The Scout 1120 lost the headlight in the process of pinching pennies elsewhere) ** Remember to tell your father that you want LIONEL. The only model trains with Magne-Traction. Just a low priced Lionel Scout set with some Lionel accessories! FUN FACT: The layout as shown in the video would cost over $500 today when adjusted for inflation ! This was an obvious & good way to upsell the lowest priced outfits in the Lionel line. The Scout sets were made to compete head-on with Louis Marx & Co. They were retailing for around $200 in today's money. With the extra track & accessories as shown, that's a $500 dollar layout. Despite the prices sounding like such a great deal, remember a dollar was worth a lot more back in the day. Video reuploaded in HD & edited with just the Lionel train material put together.
