Green fodder is very much essential for the health, milk production and reproduction of livestock. In India, there is about 64 per cent scarcity of green fodder which remain higher during 4 to 5 months in a year. Napier, a perennial fodder crop, is a best alternate to provide green fodder to the livestock at low cost. It can be grown even on the bunds of the cultivable field. We did our best to popularize the napier among the farmers which has resulted in to higher rate of adoption not only in Bareilly district but in other districts of Uttar Pradesh also. The farmers of .Uttrakhand, Bihar, Orissa, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh have taken the cuttings/roots of Napier from IVRI after getting the information through magazine, newspaper, facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp etc.
