One of the Hottest Days on the TGO Challenge 2024 Day 9 & 10

#wildcamping #wildscotland #thegreatoutdoors #camping Hi All Welcome back to days 9 and 10 on the TGO Challenge. Glen Feshie is an absolutely stunning place it feels very prehistoric and looks untouched the wildlife amongst the trees and heather covered mountain is vest and thriving and more importantly on the increase. Day 9 The hike through Glen Feshie to the Red House Bothy was fantastic, the scenery and views were incredible. The heat started at 8 am and was very difficult to deal with, there was no shade after i left the comfort and coolness of the forest areas. The cap and glasses i had were my only protection and was glad i had them. I did also have suncream which help so lucky i had that. Drinking plenty water was a must and i sourced that from the small burns and rivers i passed. I had never been to the Red House Bothy before so when it came into sight i was blown away, even better being in it, it was amazing and the Mountain Bothies Association had done a fantastic job of renovating it and maintaining it. Here i spent the night along with seven other TGO Challengers. Day 10 Waking up to some mist which eventually cleared over the morning, we swept up and cleaned up the bothy as you do. Myself and a fellow TGO Challenger headed off and made our way to Mar Lodge where tea's and coffee's and a little biscuit were waiting. It was a different kind of walk for me because up to now i was walking solo and the company was really good and made our journey walking feel quick. We chatted and had a good laugh all the way and on reaching Mar Lodge we sat for about 30 mins resting. Soon we were heading off again to the village of Breamar where i was booked onto the campsite and was looking forward to the shower. A couple of other people were walking with us which was again nice to have and more different conversations were had. Breamar wasn't that far from Mar Lodge and the scenery and woodland we walked through were just amazing. The camp site was a welcome sight to see. All booked in and didn't take long to get the tent up and showered then some admin before i walked to the village for some food and shopping. Breamar is a bustling village and is a lovely place. It was good to sleep in my tent on flat short grass for a change. Join me next time for videos 11 & 12 where the scenery get even better.
