Tuning around 40 meter CW and SSB with the TKit 1056. I am amazed at the stability of this inexpensive radio, and the sound quality. DC receivers can be tough to use, but this one seems to have the usual troubles licked. And just when I had given up on DC receivers, here is one that can actually be used in practice. I installed this one into an old resurrected Science Fair Globe Patrol cabinet and made a face for it on the computer. You can see me demonstrating the various controls: Main Tuning, Bandspread, Audio Gain, RF Gain, and Variable Bandwidth. I use this for QRP QSOs with my trusty Techsonic Milliwatter 100 mW - 3 Watt transmitter, and a straight key to maintain the minimalist element of this simple and fun station. 73, WB3T
