What Do We Think? This MG6 pulls out all the stops. It sports a custom Orange Sparkle finish, clean white pickguard and pickup covers, and a Gotoh steel block 510T tremolo. The alder body is warm and resonant, and loaded with one of our favorite P-90 pickup combinations. The Lollar Low Wind P-90 in the neck is fat but articulate. It cleans up the lower midrange that can be a bit overwhelming with a standard P-90 in the neck position of a 25.5” scale guitar. It can even get spanky through a clean Fender-style amp. And yet it has a bigger bloom, lusher bottom end and smoother highs than a single coil. The standard wind Lollar P90 in the bridge is very dynamic, exuding a bouncy chirp over a rich midrange. It can dish out your typical P-90 snarl under heavy attack and yet dial back to a warm, smooth delivery under a lighter hand or with the tone backed down. The middle position is chimey, full-bodied and perfectly compressed.
