This is projected to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. 209,600 will develop dementia this year, that's one every three minutes. 1 in 6 people over the age of 80 have dementia. Around 95% of all cases of dementia are due to Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies and frontotemporal dementia.
