Hakim explains the difficulties: pinning down the cause of the condition, the potential overlap of symptoms, and imaging interpretation. He talks about his frustration about the discrepancies in treatment among physicians, both surgical and non-surgical. With lackluster scientific evidence in the medical literature to determine the best treatment, patients might receive opposing prescriptions for treatment.
