Delhi Police Seizes ₹2,400 Crore Worth Cocaine in Namkeen Packets | ISH News

The Delhi Police has made a huge breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking. On 1st October 2024, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amit Kaushik, the police seized 562kg of cocaine, worth more than ₹6,500 crore, from a godown in Mahipalpur, South Delhi. The godown was owned by businessman Tushar Goyal, who was arrested along with his two employees and another receiver present at the scene. During interrogation, Goyal revealed that the drug trade was being run by a Delhi-based businessman named Virender Basoiya. According to Goyal, he met Basoiya in Tihar Jail in 2011. After their release, they began trading drugs together. Basoiya promised to pay Tushar ₹3 crore per drug consignment. Basoiya allegedly sent the drugs from South America to Chennai via Dubai, using an old cargo ship under his export-import business cover. The drugs were then distributed across Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa. The gang used clever ways to hide their communication. They spoke in codes using musical terms via the Threema app. When handing over drugs, they confirmed each other’s identity by matching the serial numbers of torn currency notes. The drugs were moved from Chennai to Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, and then to Delhi. The first raid in Mahipalpur was only the start. After further investigation, police learned of a second consignment. They arrested transporter A Safi, who had helped move the drugs to Hapur. Police also installed a GPS tracker on a vehicle belonging to another transporter, Mohd Akhlaq, which led them to a godown in Ramesh Nagar, West Delhi. On 10th October 2024, police seized another 208kg of cocaine worth ₹2,400 crores hidden inside packets of namkeen (snacks) labelled as "Chatpata Mixture." The total drug busts, from both raids combined, resulted in the recovery of 770kg of cocaine valued at more than ₹8,900 crores. The Delhi Police is still investigating the case and working to bring Basoiya, who is currently hiding in Dubai, back to India. A lookout notice has been issued for him and five others involved in the drug cartel. #Delhi #Drugs #DelhiPolice #Shocking #Namkeen #BreakingNews #LatestNews #IndiaSigningHands #ISH #ISHNews #ISL #IndianSignLanguage #SignLanguage ISH News broadcasts the Daily News and Entertainment online in Deaf-friendly accessible formats which are in Indian Sign Language (ISL), visual images with titles, voice-over and closed-captions.
