He lives in Mardin, a Southeastern Turkish city by the border of Syria. When he was only a child, he met his master who advised him to pick up pottery making. He decided giving it a try and after 65 years of practicing the art of ceramics, he is now one of the oldest Turkish masters of clay-making. Despite his old age, Şeyhmus's passion for pottery seems ever-growing as he blends new pottery-making techniques and traditional Turkish ceramics arts.
