McKenna’s 2017 ‘What Do You Think About My Car?’ debut was packed with angular guitar parts and equally jagged philosophical thoughts. His follow-up record, ‘Zeros’ was delayed because of the pandemic, but now it’s here. His current mullet and makeup aren’t the only indicators that time has passed. One listen to the anti-war lyrics of “British Bombs” and the ego death going down in “You Better Believe” reveals a formidable songwriter who’s added depth to his always-impressive craftsmanship.
