Flight of 'Ranger' system. Take off from gently sloping field into light wind. Engine is a German Solo 210cc single cylinder 2-stroke with twin v-belt reduction and automatic decompressor for easy starting. Climb rate 250-350 feet/min. Easy flat land take off into 5mph wind. Very comfortable seating arrangement and one-handed control in flight. Designed to enable cheap, foot-launched powered flight and landing on uneven surface. Built at a time when fuel tanks and engines on microlights were getting bigger and heavier. Supine, legs under the control bar, feet on stirrup. Swivelling 'B'-bar. The frame and seat without motor is a fabulously comfortable and easy way to fly unpowered, with the provisos that the pilot must never fall forward in flight or trap legs beneath bar on landing.
