Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy(J.U.i.C.E.) presents project "Showtime". With support from the California Arts Council in addition to our generous donors, J.U.i.C.E. was able to produce a collaborative art project called “Showtime”. J.U.i.C.E. participants in their respected artistic disciplines worked along side other creative artists in the various elements of the hip hop arts. Our project concluded with an original “Showtime” inspired song, illustration cover, interpretative dance and music video. Founded in 2001, Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy (J.U.i.C.E.) is a non-profit organization in the Rampart District of Los Angeles, offering free urban art programs to inner city youth. We help develop leadership and technical skills and encourage creative expression through music, visual art, and dance in an environment built on respect and dignity. We create unique opportunities for young artists to engage in a healthy and positive manner through the arts. Our mission is to address the root causes of juvenile crime and youths’ need for belonging by providing a free open-to-the-public safe center run by and for young people, focused on building skills in the various hip-hop arts. Art is important to cognitive, emotional, and physical development, and to building cross-cultural understanding and community development.
