'The Curse at Alton Manor’, a re-imagined haunted dark ride at Alton Towers, has picked up three awards at the UK Theme Park Awards! In partnership with Merlin Magic Making, Framestore worked to deliver the core creative concept and thematic design which received honors in the following categories: Best Reimagined Attraction - Gold Best Theme Park Music - Gold Best Marketing Campaign - Silver Framestore’s work was led by Creative Director Gavin Fox, tasked with redeveloping the attraction’s old ‘Duel’ haunted house ride into a new story and experience using modern techniques. Our team provided the creative concept of the whole attraction which included: set designs, ride narrative, storyboarding, lighting concepts, music concepts, animatronic placements, special effect concepts, illusion design, facade design, concept art and projection effect concepts.
