Santorini | Odyssey of the Seas Day 3 Cruise Vlog | Sailing Around the Caldera

Welcome to my Day 3 of my vlog series from the seven day Eastern Mediterranean cruise I took on Odyssey of the Seas back in June of 2022. On Day 3, we had a rather late arrival into Santorini at 1:00 PM. Because of this, we decided to go check out the sports area located on the top deck at the back of the Odyssey. Odyssey of the Seas might not have any water slides like most of her competitors, but she certainly does pack a punch when it comes to thrill activities. Not only is there a Flowrider surfing simulator, but also a skydiving simulator, and a VR trampoline park. This is in addition to indoor bumper cars. Unlike the thrill activities on say the Norwegian Encore (the NCL ship most similar in size to the Odyssey), Royal Caribbean has certain periods during the cruise in which the activities are free of charge. Now let's move onto talking about the port of call for that day, Santorini. Santorini is an absolutely incredible bucket list-worthy destination as I’m sure most of you can imagine, but since we were on a cruise, we didn’t get to experience even half of what it has to offer. Most of you that are familiar with cruise travel will understand what I’m talking about. In most popular cruise destinations like the Caribbean and Alaska, it’s not a huge deal that you’re in a destination for only eight hours, but in a place like Santorini and other famous European destinations, those short eight hours will become frustrating. It can be seen as a pro and con though, you might not get to experience these destinations fully, but a cruise can be an excellent sampler of a region, and that’s how you have to look at it. One other note about the misleading shore excursion, I do have to note that when my family brought this issue up to guest services on the ship, they did give us a partial refund.
