Here is how it happens. So you ask for petrol for ₹700, the attendant asks you to check the meter at ZERO and then starts filling the petrol and stops at ₹200. When you ask him why they stopped at ₹200, the attendant tells you that they heard ₹200 only. Then they proceed to reset and fill another ₹500 (will give some crap technical reason why they can’t continue from that same point). At this point someone from the team distracts you while the attendant starts filling from ₹200 onwards itself, when you think that they had reset the meter back to ZERO. Then they go till ₹500 and charge you ₹700 (₹200 + ₹500).
