"Bit Crusher" (Tekken 4) LIVE Jazz Cover // J-MUSIC Pocket Band

Our live cover of "Bit Crusher (Shinjuku)" from Tekken 4, originally composed by Satoru Kosaki. This arrangement by Patrick Bartley. Recorded live at Black Cat LES in New York, NY on December 1, 2019. HAPPY 25TH ANNIVERSARY, TEKKEN!!! We love Tekken so much, and Tekken 2 was actually my (Pat) first ever fighting game back in 1999. Since then, life has never been the same, in the best possible way. When deciding on a theme for this month, it came down to a lot of decisions - but when we saw that Tekken, one of the most influential and best selling fighting game franchises of all time, was having its 25th anniversary this week, there was no way we could ignore that. This track in particular comes from a lot of people's first Tekken game, Tekken 4, which was the series' first foray into next-gen 3D graphics on the PlayStation 2. This song is such a jam, so we just had to do it; there's nothing else deeper behind that. We got the whole gang busting out on this one, with amazing tech-heavy electrics from Ben Rosenblum on accordion, powerful, inescapable wall combos from trumpet and sax, and frame-perfect 10+, 20+, heck, 50+ HIT COMBO strings from Norman Edwards on drums. It's a party y'all. Who was your main in this game? Any Tekken game? ============================== **HAPPY 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO THE JAM SESSIONS!** Thank you so much to everyone involved for making these possible! Pocket Band now has a new home in New York City! We're hosting VGM+ (vgm and more) jazz jam sessions at Black Cat LES every 1st Sunday of the month. If you're a musician, bring your axe, and if you're not a musician, bring your DS, Switch, or your good vibes! Everyone is welcome. We want to make this a nice haven for J-culture lovers and music lovers alike.
