1993 Suzuki Katana 750 (GSX750FP) Blue - Static Review

Late 1980s were the years I became infected by the motorcycle virus. I did not have a motorcycle at that time, but I used to go to all motorcycle meets around my area. Katana 600s and 750s were very popular sport motorcycles back then, and they made a great impression on me. A few years later, I ended up buying my first motorcycle, a 1990 Honda CBR600F, but I always had a yearning to own one of these Katanas ever since. A few years ago, in 2016, I started searching for a well-maintained, low mileage and clean Katana 750. I found this blue one on eBay. It was located about 250 miles south of Boston in Long Island, NY. It looked extremely clean in the pictures and only had 8,989 miles on it. There was a video of the start-up and walkaround that the owner has posted on YouTube. I knew I was taking a risk, but placed a bid and won it. Two days later I rented a car one-way, drove down to Long Island, dropped off the car, picked up the motorcycle, and rode it back to home. It turned out to be in excellent shape for its age. In this video I am reviewing my 1993 Suzuki Katana 750 motorcycle, also known as Suzuki GSX750F in some other countries. This year’s model designation is GSX600FP, the “P” at the end referring to the year 1993. The last year of production for this first generation of Katana 750 was 1997. In 1998, Suzuki introduced a more modern looking second generation model with new fairing plastics, wider tires etc. However, the changes to the power plant and the chassis were relatively minor. If you are looking for a great sport-touring motorcycle that is more on the sport end of the spectrum than touring, but you have a very limited budget, then the first generation Suzuki Katana 750 would be a great candidate to do the job. It is a very reliable and fun motorcycle with a racing pedigree from late 1980s. Parts for it are still readily available and relatively inexpensive. If you find a clean and well-maintained specimen, I recommend you to not miss it. By the way, you can get detailed information for all years of Suzuki Katana 750 motorcycles at this website (I am not affiliated with it, but use it as a reference all the time): http://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-serie...
