"Rumble" Previsualization Show Reel

In 2018, I got a call to see if I would be interested in working on an animated film about Monster Wrestling. I thought to myself, "Giant kaiju-style monsters wrestling? Sign me up!" I started in 2018 and finished at the height of the Pandemic in 2020. The film debuted on Paramount+ in December of 2021. Previs Artist Andrew Titcomb impressively wrote an entire Previs Pipeline that worked on top of the Reel FX toolset for the show all while doing some great shot work. He "built the plane" while we were taking off and flying. We managed to render the Rough Layout (RLO) in Arnold which was a first time using that renderer for me. I had a split team between the "local" Paramount artists and the Montreal based Reel FX ones as well as more department leadership in Dallas, TX. The team did a fantastic job, and I finally got some time to put together a proper show reel that puts their talents on display. The top image is the Previs while the bottom image is the Final Shot. Even a few years out, the work holds up, and I am proud of our efforts in Previs and Layout. I am also happy to recognize the artists' individual contributions here as a sample of their fine work.
