Solo Hiking across the Lake District: the Cumbria Way

The Cumbria Way is a 117 km hiking trail through the beautiful Lake District. Starting south in Ulverston, the route then goes north straight through the Lake District National Park to finish in Carlisle. Both the start and finish of the Cumbria Way are very easily accessible by train. I walked this trail solo in June 2022 and it was a fairly quiet route with some beautiful campsites along the way. It took me 7 days to complete the trail (including one day of rest due to wet boots and painful, blistery feet) and although the hiking days were quite long, the beauty of the national park was worth every step.
