Collin Etheridge went into sudden cardiac arrest while at school at only 13 years old. Fortunately, the faculty and staff were well trained in CPR and had multiple AEDs on site ultimately saving Collin's life. With the help of Project S.A.V.E., Collin's school was able to perfect their emergency action plan to make sure their school is prepared in the event something like this happens again. The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Heart Center started Project S.A.V.E.—which stands for Sudden cardiac arrest, Awareness, Vision for prevention, Education—in 2004 with the mission of preventing sudden cardiac arrest in children, teens and young adults in Georgia communities.
