Commissions are a mixed bag. Sometimes you get to do exactly what you want to do, most of the time, not so much. I was left pretty free with what to do on this one, I had a couple of reference photos to go off of, so nothing to hairy. The first version featured a guy staring at his phone while the full spectrum of nature's awe inspiring magnificence was just a slight upward tilt of the head away. The customer didn't seem as keen as I was on this dramatic bit of irony(or was it more social commentary), so I started over. I do love the final version. The colors, the shapes, the structure, all wonderful, yet part of me will always wonder about what kind of deeper meaning could have been conveyed. Oh well, have to find my own then. Be seeing you.
