Project manager Heidi Öövel speaks about the new Life project: Woodmeadowlife. This is a part of the series "Lecture's and speeches from the project Life Bridging the Gap's final seminar in may 2022". Which summarizes the project years 2016 to 2022. LIFE Bridging the Gap has worked to improve the oak environments in 30 different Swedish Natura 2000 areas. Here are some of the things done in the project. Restored oak habitats to pastures and meadows. Set up wood mould boxes to improve for the hermit beetle, Osmoderma eremita. Set up stag beetle habitat piles to improve for the stag beetle, Lucanus cervus. Veteranised trees. Planted a large number of trees and bushes. Reared and reintroduced the great capricorn beetle, Cerambyx cerdo.
