LADY OF THE NIGHT ORCHID B. Little Stars, or Lady of the Night Orchid

LADY OF THE NIGHT ORCHID B. Little Stars, also known as the Lady of the Night Orchid is a cross between B. Nodosa and B. subulifolia (also known as cordata). Both are found in Central America. My Lady of the Night orchid is the B. Little Stars 'Yasuji Takasak' which I purchased at Fantasy Orchids her in Louisville, CO, USA on 4 June 2021. I have had it under a grow light with my Cattleyas and have been watering about once a week. My ambient humidty this time of year (summer) is between 40 and 50 percent as I am utilizing the air conditioning. I grow in my living room which has an East facing window. Some things you need to know about the Lady of the Night Orchid: *generally very vigorous plants and grow in both a pot or on a mount *fragrant at night, many describe a citrusy scent *thought to be easier than our typical hybrid Phalaenopsis and flowers more easily *considered an intermeadiate grower *will grow in medium to bright light, however, needs brighter light to bloom *good air circulation (as with most of our orchids) *prefer a wet dry cycle for watering *some believe that you should give B. Little Stars a 2 week rest in winter when not actively growing (this will depend on your growing enviroment) *pollinated by the Big Sphinx Moth which is only found in the area that the Lady of the Night grows *leaves resemble more of the Nodosa parent *fertilise while in active growth using the recommendation on your prefered solution Phalaenopsis Experiment    • EXPERIMENTING WITH PHALAENOPSIS Exper...   June 2021 Haul    • JUNE 2021 HOUSEPLANT HAUL come check ...   Repot Playlist    • Repots   GROWING ENVIROMENT Living Room (Denver, CO) Average Humidity: 30-40 percent Light: Primarily East Facing window One grow shelf with supplemental lighting CHANNEL SUPPORT- Please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE (it's free!) and SHARE with your friends if you feel they can get value out of my video.
