2022 Association of Shelter Veterinarians Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters

The Association of Shelter Veterinarians published the 2nd edition of the Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters [The Guidelines], which serves as an evidence-based resource for veterinarians and shelter professionals involved in managing the health and welfare of shelter populations. The body of knowledge has grown significantly in the decade since the first edition was released leading to significant revision of the original 11 sections. Two new sections have been added to address important operational aspects of disaster response and veterinary forensics.
