It's time to plant our dahlia tubers! And we're doing it now in the early spring to guarantee earlier blooms. Follow along as we go through the simple steps to prep and plant dahlia tubers for a head start on the flowering season. We're growing dahlias from our friends at Blomster Verden: ‪@blomsterverdendanmark‬ They've sent us beautiful colors ranging from Mango Madness and Zorro to Boom Boom White, Capetown, Aphrodite, Wishes n Dreams, Tahiti Sunrise, Ace Summer Sunset, and more. Here's how we plant ours: First things first, take a moment to trim off any shriveled, moldy, or dry growth from your dahlia tubers. This ensures they're in top shape for planting. Next, grab your pot and add a few handfuls of potting soil to the bottom. Then, gently hold the tuber by its stem and nestle it into the soil in the pot. Make sure it's snug but not buried too deep. Then, carefully fill in the pot with more potting soil until the tuber is completely covered, leaving just the tip of the stem exposed. Following these simple steps sets your dahlia tubers up for success, promising a vibrant and early display of blooms. We'll store them indoors until we're ready to plant outdoors.
