With longer day-hikes, I needed more carrying capacity. For the last six months or so I have been enjoying the Salomon Active Skin 8 Set Hydration Pack. I can continue using my beloved 500cc softflasks the way I am used to, but also add a bladder in the back or bring other hiking items that just won't fit in my other running vests. First I mention the S-Lab Sense 2 & Sense Ultra 8 vests and how I use those. Then at 3:45 I get into the review the Active Skin 8 Set. The pack cost me NT$3980 ($141 USD) at Shinguang Mitsukoshi Department Store in Taichung, Taiwan. On their website, as of December 2020, I am seeing a price of $159.99 USD. The Active Skin 8 weighs 192 grams and comes in two colors (black & blue). After at least six long day-hikes, I have not had a problem with odor, but I should probably wash it soon in the delicate cycle (The website says to hand wash). Also on the website, the pack/vest has been given 5 stars by every single reviewer! Most note how the vest is able to keep all contents snug and from bouncing around.
