Healthy bengal gram based sweet recipe prepared druing diwali and navratri INGREDIENTS: Chana dal (Bengal gram) – 1 cup Jaggery – 1 cup Water – 1/3 cup Grated coconut – 1/3 cup Cardamom powder – 1 teaspoon Salt – 1 pinch Cashew nut - 4-5 Ghee – 1 tablespoon RECIPE: 1. Roast chana dal till aromatic and soak for 30-45 minutes. 2. Pressure cook the dal on medium flame till 2 whistles. 3. Drain the water, dry completely and grind into dry ingredients. 4. In a thick bottomed vessel, heat ghee and roast cashew. Set this aside. 5. Now add jaggery and water. Dissolve jaggery completely and cook till raw smell goes away. 6. Add cardamom powder and salt. 7. Now, in cold water if jaggery syrup forms a solid ball, then the consisitency is correct. Add the powdered dal. 8. Mix evenly and cook for 5-7 minutes. 9. Add coconut and cashew nuts. 10. Mix evenly. The texture should be crumbly when cold.
