Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail is a roughly 2.5-mile loop trail that is located near Highlands, NC. On this trail, you'll walk across the Eastern Continental Divide and Whiteside Mountain rises to an elevation of 4,930 feet is it part of the Nantahala National Forest. Whiteside Mountain's cliffs look like sheets of ice draped across the mountain. These rocks are estimated to be 390 to 460 million years old.
