Backpacking the Big SEKI (Sequoia/Kings Canyon) Loop North Part 2

The 155-mile Big SEKI Loop is located in the Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The trail was originally created as an alternate to the popular John Muir Trail. Although shorter than the JMT by 56 miles, it’s still just as beautiful and challenging. The trail takes in portions of the John Muir and High Sierra Trails and can be modified to fit one’s needs and can be entered in by way of Roads End in the western Sierras or from Onion Valley on the eastern side. Part two consists of the final four days of the trip. Heading north, we left Simpson Meadow, to meet-up with and take the John Muir Trail south towards the Golden Staircase and then Mather Pass. Continuing south along the JMT crossing Pinchot Pass, Glen Pass and eventually heading east to cross Kearsarge Pass for the second time to exit into Onion Valley. It was an amazing 8 days in the backcountry with my friend, Tony. We covered roughly 104 miles with nearly 23,000 feet of elevation gain while crossing 7 passes. Would I do it again? Maybe. 😉 Music featured in this video: Remembering A Heartbeat Hampus Naeselius https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/E... Walk Tall Johannes Bornlöf https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/6...
