#postmatric #scholarship #minorities #hightechclassroom Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities – Objective The post-matric scholarship for minorities launched by the Government of India serves the purpose of providing financial support to meritorious but financially disadvantaged students. Through this scholarship, the government aims to increase the rate of attainment of higher education among the students belonging to minority communities. Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities – Eligibility Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities caters to the minority students studying in class 11 and above. So, the eligible candidates for this MOMA scholarship must belong to any of the minority communities. 1. Applicants must belong to a minority community as notified by the Government of India. These include Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains. 2. The candidates must be studying in class 11 or above. Thus, the students studying in class 11,12, graduate, postgraduate, technical or vocational courses, M.Phil or PhD are eligible to apply for this scholarship. 3. Students applying for this MOMA scholarship should have scored a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grades in the previous final examination. 4. The annual family income of the candidate’s parents/guardian should not exceed INR 2 lakh. This annual income comprises of total income from all the sources.  Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities – Application procedure Those interested in applying for the Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities can do so through the National Scholarship Portal or the NSP. The NSP is a government portal for various centrally sponsored scholarship schemes. https://scholarships.gov.in/ Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities – Documents Required Domicile certificate for the respective state Self-declaration of minority community certificate by the student Self-attested copy of previous academic mark sheet Copy of Aadhar Enrollment/Aadhar Card Income certificate issued by designated state/UT authority Proof of bank account in the name of the student or joint account with mother/father Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities – Terms and Conditions The award of this MOMA scholarship is subject to various terms and conditions as directed by the government of India. Some of the most relevant terms and conditions are- 1. 30% of the scholarship will be designated specifically for the girl students. These earmarked scholarships can be awarded to eligible boy students in case there are not sufficient eligible girl students available. 2. This scholarship also covers classes 11 and 12 including technical and vocational courses like ITIs and Polytechnics. 3. Applicants need to furnish an income certificate of parent/guardian issued from a competent authority in the State/UT. 4. Of all the scholarships offered by the central government, a student can only avail the benefits of a single scheme. 5. The scholarship can be renewed in the next year subject to the students securing a minimum of 50% marks in the previous examination. 6. The number of scholarships for minorities available in a year is fixed and limited. In the case of selection conflict, weightage will be given to poverty than marks. 7. Students who have attained an age of 18 years need to provide a self-certified community certificate. 8. From a single family, a maximum of two students can avail scholarship benefits. 9. Migration of students from one school/institute to another is not allowed for renewal applicants during the period of academic course. 10. Violation of school discipline may cause suspension or cancellation of the scholarship. Making false statements for receiving the scholarship may also lead to scholarship cancellation. 11. The scholarship awards and allowances will be credited directly to the student’s account under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. 12. The scheme is a Central Sector Scheme. Furthermore, the MOMA provides 100% funding for the scheme. 13. The Ministry will evaluate the scheme at regular intervals. 14. The Government of India can change the regulations any time at its own discretion.
