We first discovered this tune from Priscilla Ahn's beautiful version, which was featured on a J-Pop compilation given to me by a longtime Japanese family friend. Happy End was a pioneering Japanese folk rock band in the early 70's whose front man, Haruomi Hosono, is still performing and making music at the age of 72.
