One of the most famous restaurants in Jakarta to eat Chinese style bakso (meatballs) is Bakso Akiaw 99, located in Mangga Besar, Jakarta. Across Asia, from Taiwan to Thailand, I’m a big fan of beef noodles. And also, so long as the beef meatballs are all one hundred percent beef, I also really enjoy Chinese style meatballs. One of the most legendary restaurants to eat the Chinese style of bakso in Jakarta is a restaurant called Bakso Akiaw 99, originally from Medan, Sumatra. From the moment the restaurant opens in the afternoon, it remains busy throughout the evening and night. The beef was salty and flavorful, and the meatballs had a nice bouncy texture to them. Bakso Akiaw 99, located in the Manga Besar area of Jakarta (an area that has a strong Chinese and Medan influence), is a must visit restaurant when you’re in Jakarta for bakso.
