The reason for this issue is the fact that the data partition on your device is currently encrypted and hence TWRP is unable to read them. You could also verify the same by going to the Install section of TWRP and all the files will be named in random alphabets. Likewise, go to Advanced - File Manager and then head over to data/app directory and all the file names will again be randomized. Both these instances signifies that the data is currently encrypted and you have to decrypt it, which in turn will not only rectify the randomized file naming issue but will also make the Nandroid Backup feature up and running again.
