Remove Chrome From Aluminum Rims / Wheels, with a sandblaster.

I found some old rims on Facebook for a couple bucks. The rims were Chrome over Aluminum. Unfortunately, like most chrome rims in my area, they started to peel, and when they do there is really nothing that you can do about it. So, I decided to remove the Chrome from the Rims with a Cheap Harbor Freight Sandblaster. To do this better you should probably find a blasting cabinet but... I didn't have one, so I had to keep cleaning up the pavement, filtering the sand and re-using it. This whole process takes a very, very long time and Really, Really Sux! To finish the job, I powder coated the Rims in my DIY powder Coating oven that I made from some old filing cabinets and a free electric oven from Facebook. After many, many, long hours of blasting these rims it worked out... I now have a decent set of rims that aren't pealing! They aren't perfect but that was never the goal.
