009 Quarry Hunslet 'Britomart' Review - Bachmann Narrow Gauge!

Bonus Content:    / @thatmodelrailwayguy   MERCH: https://shop.thatmodelrailwayguy.com One of the first things that got me thinking seriously about a 009 layout was the announcement of the Quarry Hunslets back in 2018. Now a few years later the models have finally arrived and I was very excited to my hands on one. While it was ultimately the Double Fairlies that pushed me into building my 009 layout in a suitcase Gofod Tynn, the Quarry Hunslets to me are the quintessential narrow gauge engine. These small cute locos come in a variety of brightly coloured liveries with both open and closed cab variants. I've gone for one of the closed cab versions, Britomart in lined blue with the real engine being preserved at the Ffestiniog Railway in Wales. There's no denying that these good looking locos are small though and I imagine it must have been a challenge to fit the usual amount of detail into such a small model. Bachmann have been riding high with the success of their other recent narrow gauge locos so will the Quarry Hunslets live up to that? You'll have to watch to find out.
