Bonus: four Mysterious Figure losses that were better than the win (KHBBS, PSP non-FM)

(Possible seizure warning from 3:50 - 4:00.) "The win" mentioned in the title is already linked at the end of the video, but:    • Terra vs. Mysterious Figure without S...   Normally I only post wins, but the ones I got in the past couple of sessions were unsatisfying enough that I legitimately feel like many of the losses were just more interesting. After all, a lot of these attempts were early on when I was playing pretty well and just got screwed over by Collision Magnet or something. It helps that I managed to show some stuff I'd wanted to for a while in these sessions. 0:00 - Battle 1 I think the opening to this one really stands on its own. Side note about Demolition: this was my first time testing it out for this fight, and I've concluded that it is the worst of the ultimate finish commands here. In addition to a deceptively small impact area vs. how fast he moves, even if it "hits" him he has a ~50% chance of just dodging it anyway. I will give it that it's the only ultimate finisher that isn't totally blanked by invisibility, I suppose. 2:21 - Battle 2 begins This one is in there for the silly ending of being screwed over by a command style change, but also for showing something that I've wanted to highlight for a while: 2:35 - Dodging Collision Magnet follow-up This discovery is moot now thanks to the HD version, but it used to be thought that being hit by this attack meant you were dead unless he followed it up with an X-slash. That's...still mostly true (see: the next clip)! But you can also dodge a tornado or (sometimes) a second Collision Magnet with a quick jump into an air slide. The timing ranges from "tight" to "probably frame perfect" however, so it's still better to not get hit by it to begin with. Or just play the HD version, where the move is basically a non-threat. 2:39 - Battle 2 continues 4:15 - Battle 3 I actually started out this session with Ice Slide and Dark Star 2 equipped instead of normal Air Slide and Demolition, respectively. Dark Star isn't too exciting, so I'll just give a little overview of Ice Slide. I used to think of it as a sidegrade aerial dodge command, but now I think it's a very slight downgrade - losing invincibility at the end of your dodge is a big deal, no matter what you get in return. However, it is still a solid option with some neat applications. For example, you can use it immediately after getting hit by one of MF's combos for some damage and a potential free stagger. With good spacing, you can also use it to stagger him during Raging Storm, which lets even Terra get a pretty easy Aerial Slam followup (though it's pretty easy to get yourself hit doing this). Finally, it is a reasonable (if somewhat risky) clone killer. On the flipside, it does have the bizarre property of being able to be parried, which I'm pretty sure is otherwise only a factor on most normal attacks. If this means that it basically is a normal attack, then that could be significant! Testing it out with Drain is actually why I have Maleficent's D-Link equipped here, though I haven't actually gotten around to trying it yet. 6:44 - Battle 4 Despite the shaky opening, this one was easily the one I was most disappointed in being a loss. For one, it showed off something amazing that I really wanted to capture clearly at some point: 8:41 - "Blocking" tornado Tornado/Whirlwind to the Void cannot be blocked, per se. However, I've found that a bunch of your normal commands (including your basic attack, block, dodges, and items, among others) seem to have a frame of invincibility at their starts. This differs from the invincibility given by dodges and i-frame moves in that you are actually still hit, but you don't take damage or suffer any ill effects from the move you were hit by. If the move is programmed to only be able to hit once (like tornado), then this means that "blocking" it like this also renders it harmless even if you were to touch it again. If you've ever dodged or blocked an attack and seen that attack's visual hit effects appear in spite of you taking no damage, then chances are you were inadvertently taking advantage of this frame perfect invincibility. 8:43 - Battle 4 continues Back to the fight, the ending is probably the best demonstration of Demolition's foibles there is. MF on ~80 HP, me at full health going into the command, still lose because I don't think I hit a single time with it. I also knew that what happened for the actual finishing blow was possible, and I could have avoided it by not frivolously throwing away my D-Link earlier in the fight (see: the win video where I used D-Link at 1 HP high in the air), which I only had to do because of my terrible timing with using Dark Impulse's finish command.
