Thanks for checking out this Norma electric mandolin. This came to me needing a little love, and I've got it in good working order now. The electronics and the pickup are all in great condition - check out that mother of pearl in the pickup cover! Very hot response from the pickup. The pickup and tone knobs both have felt under them to protect the finish of the guitar. No scratchiness in the pots, and the tone knob has a great taper for this kind of mandolin - no dark shelf at 2. Comes with a brand new Road Runner hard shell case! So here's the work I did: Neck - the finish was cracking on the back of the neck, so I stripped it down and put a clear coat on it to protect the wood. Very smooth and playable now! Frets - there were a couple high frets here and there that I leveled. Strings - Fresh set of D'Addario EJ67 nickel plated steel strings for maximum response from the magnetic pickup. General clean up - oiled the fretboard, cleaned and polished the body. Set up - bridge placed at the correct scale length, string height as low as possible at about 3/32. The only downside is a design flaw in this model. The pickup sits up very high from the body, so when you play the strings above the 15th fret, they hit the pickup. On the other hand, this is an A-style mandolin, so it's a stretch to play above the 12th fret anyway because of the body shape and the shorter neck. Thanks again for checking it out!
