Further I will elaborate its mode of damages in cotton crop. Whitefly management techniques will also be discussed in detail. Whitefly is a sucking pest which is white in colour. It sucks sap from leaves, twigs and flowers. It also excretes honey juice on which fungus grows and cotton leaves turn to black. It weakens the plants by sucking sap and blackening the cotton leaves. Adult white fly and nymphs of white fly both are dangerous for cotton crops as both suck juice from cotton plant parts. Blackening in cotton fields is a very serious issue as it disturbs the photosynthesis process of cotton plant leaves. Cotton growers can manage white fly in their cotton fields by; 1) Managing weeds 2) By providing good environment for beneficial insects 3) By proper Irrigations If whitefly infestation increases from a certain limit which is called economic threshold level. chemical control is necessary.
