The Bedouins call this mountain in Saudi Arabia as “Jabal al-Lawz”, or “Jebel el-Lawz” located in NorthWest Saudi Arabia, near the Jordanian border, above the Gulf of Aqaba at 2,580 metres (8,460 feet) above sea level. It stands there in stark contrast to the other mountains of the area, scorched black on the top. Only this mountain peak contains the scorched rock in the entire Saudi Arabian mountain range where the burning presence of the Lord settled down. The Saudi government has closed down the Jebel el Lawz site to any foreign archaeological study.
