Here is a link to the mystery project with the red wires coming out from under the cargo area floor:    • Sequential LED trunk light strip on a...   TOOLS AND MATERIALS LIST: -T20 Torx -Tweezers -Small flat screwdriver or similar pry tool -Nips (optional) -Dremel or similar rotary tool -Tape -Marker -Double-sided tape (4 inches) -Drill and 3/16" bit -Silicone -Electrical tape and/or heat shrink -147in (3.7m) of red 18-20 gauge wire -67in (1.7m) of black 18-20 gauge wire -Hanger or wire pull -8mm hex nut socket NOTES: I could not find any wiring under the hood that was ambient light dependent, so I chose to run the 12v power wire to the rear of the vehicle. Once at the rear you could also choose to tap into one of the license plate lights to achieve the same result. This requires removing the bumper and would extend the time to complete this project.
