Women want to know if it's OK to get a breast augmentation before having children. Dr. Haeck shares that he has many patients who have successfully breast fed with implants. He has also seen breast implants act like a splint, helping breasts go back to their original shape after pregnancy. Visit us online at http://goo.gl/m6m7tr or call 206-860-4684. Transcript Hi I'm Dr. Phil Haeck, and I'm a board certified plastic surgeon in Seattle, Washington. I work for the Polyclinic Plastic Surgery. I've been doing breast augmentation (breast implants) for 25 years. Women always want to know what's going to happen when I get pregnant? Will my breast change? Will I be able to breast feed? Those are excellent questions to ask and the answer is - most women have successfully breast fed after an augmentation. The other subtle things - to me, after 25 years of examining my patients who've had a breast augmentation and then several babies, I don't see a lot of sagging or drooping. To me the implant acts like a splint and after breast feeding is over, everything tends to draw back and retract to that splint, to that implant. If women were having a lot of sagging issues after breast feeding, I'd have a lot more breast lifts to do. The truth of the matter is they're not coming back to me to fix things after two or three babies. Visit us online at http://goo.gl/m6m7tr or call 206-860-4684.
