Today I'm doing what I'm always preaching by getting out of my comfort zone and heading to Sukhumvit in Central Bangkok in search of some authentic Thai street food. I'm headed to the upmarket area of Phrom Phong to try two very different back alley noodles. One is a super famous pork noodle soup shop, famed for its highly flavourful broth. The other is an unknown northern Thai restaurant serving up a seriously great khao soi. Rung Rueang Pork Noodle (Left Shop) didn't disappoint, the dry Tom Yum were great and the soup was as flavour packed as expected! This is one of the best pork broths you'll find in Bangkok at this price point. Two bowls with orange juice was 140 thb £2.90 / $3.65 I also at the Northern Thai restaurant, I had Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiow (pork in tomato broth with rice noodles), laab kua (Northern laab salad) and Sai Ua (Chiang Mai sausage). The Nam Ngiow was top 5 I've had anywhere! The whole khao soi/Northern Thai feast came to 250 THB - £5.82 / $7.32 which is crazy cheap with the centre of Bangkok!
