Come and explore the Koppio Smithy Museum with us. Set in the Koppio Hills, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia and featuring the original Blacksmith shop and ‘Glenleigh’ a thatched two bedroom cottage (restored) circa 1890. The Brennand Family donated 2 and a 1/2 acres of their farm to the National Trust. Locals restored the blacksmith and cottage and it was opened to the public in 1968. This Museum has so much to explore including a collection of very early Aboriginal artefacts. The Burning Issues exhibition was a sobering reminder of the Black Tuesday bushfire on Eyre Peninsula, January 2005, where 9 people lost their lives, 93 houses were destroyed along with 316 farm sheds and 77,964 hectares of land burned.
