More about this video: OPEN: To begin a conversation with a person or a group of people; i.e.-to "open," or to run an "opener." The word “open,” as it is used in the "Seduction Community," stems from the PUG (Pick-up Guru) Mystery, who adopted the term from magicians, who use the word to refer to starting a performance (i.e.-“opening a set”). As a PUA (Pick-up Artist) you are also a preforming artist. Opening is one of the first steps in pickup, and learning "The Game" (A book by the PUG Neil Strauss about the Seduction Community). Beyond making eye contact. Opening is usually accomplished by an "opener," which is a piece of conversation in which a PUA uses to get into "set." This can be as simple as saying “hi,” or, it could be reciting a memorized set of "canned routines;" which we will be discussing how to do with in this program. In pickup, as in life, first impressions are important, so it is a good idea to set the proper frame when first opening a set, or a target. Openers are what PUAs use to get conversations started with the women they're interested in (i.e.-their "target." PUA openers can range from a simple hello, to elaborate stories that have been crafted, and pre-skripted (a.k.a. "intro-skripting") to get their targets interested in them.
