Put it aside that this is just another group of Paul’s tracks and keep an open mind about this project. The truth of the matter is that Maxine Hardcastle has been a vocalist on her Dad’s compositions since she was a child...and you can’t ignore the vibes, the beauty or intensity in her voice when you hear these tracks…and if this is not enough for you, there’s a few more (in this Collection) such as “Fireflies”, “Stay in the Moment”, “Different Kind of Love”; “Look to the Future” and other favorites. Let’s go beyond the focus of what’s covered in this collection…and instead think about what’s missing, and should be added, because you just can’t help becoming a fan of this songbird just as you are a fan of Paul’s when you hear her accompaniment vocals on the Hardcastle music projects. Beautifully chilled songs like “Love is the Power”, “Rhythm of Life Chill”, “Crystal Whisper”, and “Slippin’ Away” are just a few of the other tracks dominated by her smooth vocals. By the way, I’m going to forgive Paul for not including “It’s Not Impossible” in this collection. Maxine Hardcastle is an accomplished and highly requested Resident DJ performer and has worked with some notable musicians and music producers (such as Darren Rahn, who is the saxophonist on the track “Speechless”). An experienced remixer, she has written and mixed for some prestigious labels. She’s been under her father’s “wings” on his music but now that Maxine has become an accomplished singer, in her own right, Paul wants to expand on her music credits. For all we know, she may have very well written a few of the tunes we’re hearing on Paul’s projects. So, after listening, if you’re not sure what Paul and Maxine are up to by releasing this collection…stay tuned. The Collection by Maxine could be the start of a new direction for her…like perhaps an album of her own songwriting.
